Mid-Year Reception Intake

Free Tuition for Mid‑Year Reception Intake

Give your son a headstart in his transition from early years to a structured learning environment.  Enrol in our mid-year Reception intake for FREE tuition and a better start to school.

Enrolling your son in our mid-year Reception intake, known as the Little Brothers Transition Program, provides a nurturing and engaging start to his school journey – at no cost to families. Designed especially for boys, the program provides a positive introduction to school life by bridging early learning with the school environment through a blend of project-based and play-based learning. With a strong focus on wellbeing and social-emotional development, the program helps boys build confidence, feel a sense of belonging, and enjoy learning right from the beginning. The transition is thoughtfully supported through Early Learning Centre visits, classroom integration, and buddy partnerships with older students. Backed by our commitment to Every Boy, Every Day, we work closely with families to tailor the experience to each child’s needs, setting them up for success all the way through to Year 12.

Launching Into Learning

Transitioning from an early learning setting to formal schooling can be a significant milestone for children and families. Ensuring a positive start to school and fostering a sense of belonging are crucial for a successful learning journey.

The CBC Little Brothers Program for mid-term starters gives our youngest learners a great start to school.

The program serves as a bridge between the early learning setting and the school environment, with a strong focus on wellbeing and social/emotional skills.

The transition journey begins with our Reception teachers visiting each child’s early learning centre; this allows both educators and children to get to know each other prior to the boys entering the school environment. Following this, the children then participate in several transition visits to the Junior Campus, allowing them to gradually acclimatise to the new environment before their first official day. The process culminates in a graduation ceremony, where the boys are presented with their own CBC hat and bag with staff, younger students, student leaders, and parents in attendance.

They will then spend their two terms as a class before progressing to a full year of Reception the following year.

The Little Brothers Program is focused on a play-based curriculum, enriched with inquiry play projects, which integrates various subject contents seamlessly.

The curriculum is designed to align with each child’s interests. In addition to classroom activities, children engage in music, physical education, digital technology, and Chinese, enhancing their experience and learning opportunities.

The teachers and qualified support staff work closely with families addressing any challenges or additional needs that may arise and offering support programs where needed.

Additionally, our Buddy Program gives our new Receptions opportunities to interact with boys from older year levels. This makes the boys feel welcome and helps them settle into the school environment.

At CBC, we are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for young learners. Through our comprehensive transition program and tailored support in the years that follow, we aim to lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning and academic success!
