Guaranteeing Pathways to Higher Education

The Christian Brothers College (CBC) and Flinders University Education Pathway Program is designed to provide students with unique opportunities to integrate their secondary education with higher learning.

By completing Research Project Stage 2 / Activating Identities and Futures (AIF), the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), and prerequisite school subjects (see below), CBC students are guaranteed entry into a variety of specialised programs at Flinders University. These include the Sport Pathway (Diploma), Sport Pathway (Bachelor) and Business Pathway (Bachelor). The collaboration between CBC and Flinders University aims to create a clear and accessible route for students to progress into higher education, offering a seamless transition into key academic areas.

Business Pathways

VET Course	Successful completion of: • Certificate III in Sport Coaching
Stage 2 Subjects	Successful completion of the following: • Business Innovations • English • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school) AND Successful completion of any one of the following: • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school) • Extension Studies topics (2 topics = 20 SACE credits) or equivalent
Achievements	• Minimum B- grade or above for all subjects • Successful completion of SACE • Satisfy CBC Advantage requirements

Sport Pathways

VET Course	Successful completion of: • Certificate III in Sport Coaching	–
Stage 2 Subjects	Successful completion of any four of the following: • Biology * • Business Innovations • English • Health and Wellbeing • Integrated Learning (Sport Studies) • Outdoor Education • Physical Education • Scientific Studies: Sports Science • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school) • Extension Studies topics (2 topics = 20 SACE credits) or equivalent	Successful completion of: • Soccer Program Participation AND Successful completion of any four of the following: • Biology * • Business Innovations • English • Health and Wellbeing • Integrated Learning (Sport Studies) • Outdoor Education • Physical Education • Scientific Studies: Sports Science • Any other TAS subject (as approved by school) • Extension Studies topics (2 topics = 20 SACE credits) or equivalent

Guaranteed Future Pathways	Successful completion of either Sports Management Diploma listed above provides guaranteed entry to the following courses (commence at Year 2): • Bachelor of Business • Bachelor of Business majoring in Sports Management • Bachelor of Sport and Active RecreationAs well as these guaranteed pathways, students completing either Sports Management Diploma will receive a Grade Point Average (GPA) allowing them to apply for transfer into other courses, such as the B Health Sciences / M Physiotherapy.
