Rowing Auxiliary

The Rowing Auxiliary is a volunteer organisation devoted to fundraising activities that support our crews during each rowing season.

Rowing Auxiliary Report - Year ending 2007.

The Rowing Auxiliary ran a huge program during the 06/07 season including: Three Raffles, A Quiz Night, Two Camps, assisting the P&F by manning a bar at the International Night along with the numerous Regattas.

Setting up the Purple and White marquees and starting the generator to give life to the coffee machine was a main priority to all not only CBC parents. The BBQ was busy cooking up bacon and eggs, sausages and onions, much to the amazement of many schools. We had time for a laugh and a chat but mostly we were there to support our boys.

Again the rowing families helped at the Clipsal with a large number of Parents volunteering to help - I thank everyone who helped - you know who you are.

We welcomed our new in-coming Principal Mr Noel Mifsud who was invited to attend a regatta prior to taking office. On arrival Noel asked if he could help, and was soon cutting up onions and helping wherever he could, as well as talking to the parents and boys - and yes he’s been back.

We have been able to purchase a new marquee, a rowing banner and a new boat. All this has been achieved by a group of dedicated parents, working together and having fun all with the goals of supporting the Rowing Team.

I would like to thank:

Bianco Building Supplies for their kind donation and support - it has been greatly appreciated;
Wally Bell from TNT who has on so many occasions let us use their BBQ Trailer;
The Committee Members and Parents who have helped throughout the season and continue to do so;
Br Murray, the Ancient Scribe for his faithful recording of all matters to do with Rowing, as well as his weekly newsletter to which we all look forward to reading.

To the boys, I would say that I have greatly admired your devotion and commitment to your fellow crew members and school during 2007.

On a final note we are excited to announce the CBC Old Scholars Rowing Club will be up and running early to mid 2008. We look forward to welcoming back our past scholars and to begin a new era in CBC Rowing.
