Telescope

CBC is reaching for the stars! Above, some of our students put the Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope through its paces.

This page outlines some of our images and details about our new observatory. We have arrived at this point of our development through the extra-ordinary efforts of Mr Dennis Pfeiffer.

Due to technical problems, and poor weather conditions, we have been unable to update the images from our telescope. However, coordinator of Astronomy, Mr John Santini, is running regular "Astronomy Nights". To learn of upcoming Astronomy Nights. please add your name to the mailing list by e-mailing here.

10" LX200 SCHMIDT CASSEGRAIN TELESCOPE
CBC's new observatory houses this telescope. A partial listing of standard features include:

  • Heavy-Duty Mounts with 9-Speed Dual-Axis Electronics;
  • Observatory-level precision in tracking, guiding, and slewing;
  • A 64,359-object onboard databases and High-Precision Pointing;
  • Coordinate GO TO Capability: Right Ascension and Declination driven;
  • The Meade 64,359-object library includes an incredible array of phenomena--virtually a lifetime of deep-space study;
  • Altazimuth Mode Operation for all visual observing applications, for lunar and planetary photography, and for most CCD imaging applications;
  • Keypad and Power Panel Functions including direct connection of CCD
    Autoguider/imagers by plugging into the telescope's power panel;
  • RS-232 serial interface with a personal computer;
  • High-Precision Pointing (HP) Capability;
