The Centenary Gymnasium located at the Senior Campus was officially opened on April 27, 1983 as a multipurpose indoor sports facility. Having served the College faithfully for many years, the floor in the Gymnasium was fully replaced in December 2016 creating a clean, bright and modern facility.
This sizeable facility (32 x 22 metres) has the capability to house various codes of sport and such as basketball, badminton, volleyball, indoor soccer and netball. The Gymnasium is more than just a sport facility and is the perfect location for social events and fundraisers with entry direct from Wakefield Street.
The Gymnasium has fully equipped supporting amenities including a kitchen, toilets and change rooms (separate male and female).
CBC Rooftop Multi-Purpose Synthetic Surface Sport Facility
The College is privileged to have at its disposal an ‘Advanced 25’ synthetic grass multi-sport surface facility located above the car park behind the school, the only one of its type in Adelaide. The facility originally built in 1997 was fully resurfaced in 2014 and includes a running track, hockey field, four futsal courts and four tennis courts. The field is fully floodlit and is gaining massive popularity as it is able to be used through the rainy season where other traditional fields tend to be water logged.
CBC City Ovals and Tennis Courts
CBC enjoys access to a number of ovals/pitches/sportsfields/courts through the Adelaide parklands.
In the east, there is two full sized football fields/cricket pitches which are used predominantly for weekend sports and athletics days. These are meticulously maintained and feature changerooms, canteen and storage sheds.
Nearby are the Wakefield Street Courts, with four artificial-surfaced courts available for basketball in winter and tennis in summer. This is in addition to the six tennis courts on Hutt Street, also equipped with artificial stuface, to provide an ideal location for tennis in summer, and hockey training in winter.
South along East Terrace, there are Soccer pitches that are used by both junior and senior teams. All these facilities boast a scenic backdrop of the Adelaide Hills, with close access to city transport.
